If there’s one thing for sure, we’re a nation of dog lovers, with not even the rising cost of living deterring us from purchasing and spending on our four-legged friends.

First up is the most popular dog breeds. While cross and mixed breeds are the most common, we explored the most popular pedigrees.

Most expensive dog breeds

We can provide a fascinating insight into the most expensive dog breeds based on the initial purchase price. While the Bulldog proved to be the eighth most popular breed, it tops our chart for the most expensive, with an average purchase price of £2,448! Taking second place was the Boxer (£1,886), just ahead of the French Bulldog (£1,869), which took third, rounding off our top 3.
